Job Summary: The Support Technician should be skilled in the  installation, configuration and maintenance of computer workstation hardware, software and peripheral equipment.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The jobholder guides the Institute’s faculty, students and staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face, or over the telephone, to help setup systems or resolve issues.
  • Offers basic technical support to users and assists in the resolution of software and hardware problems.
  • Documents, tracks and monitors all IT related problems raised by the University’s faculty and staff and ensures timely resolution. Identifies and reports recurring hardware & software problems.
  • Provides support in the development and maintenance of the IT Service Catalogue. Documents all the technical issues within the incident management system.
  • Deploys computer devices across the campus and ensures all application and data is transferred to these computer devices.
  • Performs system backups and restores as required.
  • Ensures that the shared printers are working effectively, and replace toners and proactively manages papers supply as necessary.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the UAE job should hold a technical Diploma in related field.
  • A certification in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is a plus.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Hardware Management, Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting, Application Protection.
  • Excellent computer proficiency.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is preferred.
