Job Summary: The GIS Information Solutions Leader will support all of HDR’s business lines based out of the Gulf Arab states. You will work with operations and business group leadership to identify information management needs, develop options and help to drive implementation. HDR's ability to develop a customized approach, based on our professional expertise, is what will allow for applied solutions that set us apart in the market. You would also work with other business class professionals globally to advance the state of the practice and share resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a strong understanding of HDR’s Applied Information Management initiative and our GIS business class capabilities
Work with local leadership to prioritize opportunities that weave in AIM solutions
In particular, identify GIS and asset management opportunities to support existing client plans and projects
Identify additional client opportunities
Develop a gap analysis as a basis for a 3, 6 and 18 month development plan
Work with business class leadership to develop technical initiatives that can be embedded into our annual planning process
Serve as the project manager where appropriate
Identify and develop additional technical staff to support your practice as it grows in coordination with worksharing across the business class
Well represent HDR’s culture with clients and in professional organizations
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The jobholder must hold a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences or closely related field. ESRI Certification is desired
At least five years of practical GIS experience; an advanced degree in relevant field may offset 4 years of experience
Proficient in use of ArcGIS and ArcGIS extensions (3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Publisher, etc)
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
GISP, AICP, PE or other professional certification a plus

Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical, is required.
Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of GIS and expertise with ERSI software.
