Job Summary: The Senior Radioactive Waste Management Specialist will support governance and oversight for the Radioactive Waste Management (RW) function, as well as support throughout the planning, execution, and operational phases of management activities for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP). Ensure all activities are to be consistent with regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, in order to achieve the overall business performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Staff Training and Qualification
Support Head of RW to set strategic goals, management expectations, and communicate in and out of the RW function, to ensure a high level of safety and reliability of plant systems.
Support Head of RW to evaluate performance of individual staff members and carry out mentoring and coaching initiatives to improve performance.
Provide technical mentoring to UAE nationals for Emiratization regarding Radioactive Waste Management.
Support training and qualification of Engineer Designees in Radioactive Waste Management function.
Support governance and oversight of all BNPP units RW activities to achieve the highest level of safety and reliability.
Support the operation of “Process Control Program (RW-PGD-0001)” and “Radioactive Waste Management Program (RW-PGD-0002)”.
Support to implement “Opertion of Radioactive Effluent Control Process(RW-PSD-0001)”.
Conduct and monitor periodic or unscheduled activities including surveillance and check of RW System and equipment to ensure the highest standards of conduct.
Identify any potential RW issues, analyze cause effects and take appropriate actions with report to Head of RW.
Support the development and maintenance of procedures related to RW programs and process to ensure adherence to and alignment with regulatory standards.
Support procurement of RW comsumables and others including development of Purchase Specification.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
APR-1400 or OPR-1000 operation, Radiological Protection or Radioactive Waste Management
