Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Auditor - Flight Operations will be responsible for conducting operations audits, investigations, inspections and surveillance in accordance with the approved Safety and Quality Management Manual, and as directed by the relative Quality Manager, in order to support the CAR OPS 1 Approval of Etihad Airways. The QUALITY ASSURANCE AUDITOR - FLIGHT OPERATIONS will also oversee Quality process reviews, assist in the audit follow up process, management of the electronic quality management system, and conduct safety & quality analysis and reviews of audits and Etihad departments, contracted organizations and partners to ensure compliance with the UAE regulations, Etihad standards and any other applicable requirements. The Quality Assurance Auditor - Flight Operations is accountable for monitoring compliance with, and the adequacy of, procedures required to ensure safe operational practices, as required by CAR-OPS. The primary role of the Operations Auditor is to verify, by monitoring activities such as audits, investigations, and surveillance and subsequent follow up of the corrective actions in accordance with the GCAA, SQMM, other Civil Aviation Authorities and as directed in the fields of Flight Operations (primarily) but also on occasion,Ground Operation, Cargo Operation, Operational Aviation Security and activities that being carried out under the supervision of the relevant Nominated Post Holder.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Policies and Procedures: Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Day-to-Day Operations: Implement the day-to-day standard operations assigned to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures. Refer to supervisor for complex tasks which may require exceptions to procedures
Safety, Quality & Environment: Comply and ensure compliance with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Undertaking audit tasks, investigation, surveillance, or inspections of Etihad departments as well as external contracted service providers, code share, or wet lease organisations within the auditor qualified scopes, assessing compliance with the applicable UAE GCAA regulations, IOSA standards, Etihad procedures and other applicable requirements.
Conducting audits/inspections/investigations, compiling reports, preparing audit checklists and providing feedback to auditees within the timescale defined by the Audit Program.
Conducting audit follow up. He must follow up on corrective actions and response to audit findings ensuring compliance with regulations is re-instated and the procedures implemented are effective to support Etihad’s safe operations.
Conducting risk assessments during audits, investigations, inspections or whenever deemed necessary; liaising with the Quality Manager and relevant business partner.
Supporting Etihad’s safe operations by promoting regulatory compliance and implementation of effective procedures.
Assisting in the management of the electronic and printed audit documentation and record control (G:\drive, Aviation Quality Database, Intelex, audit files).
Complying with the ‘Auditor’ responsibilities defined in this manual when assigned to conduct audits or inspections. Any other duties, as required.
Plan and conduct audit, inspections and investigations by leveraging on a wide range of audit techniques to identify risks and potential issues in order to support their timely and accurate resolution
Develop audit checklist, prepare reports and communicate them in a timely manner to ensure alignment with internal and external standards
Manage and conduct assessments, inspections and follow up to ensure actual execution of identified corrective actions
Monitor the implementation of safety and quality standards and procedures to ensure their accurate and complete adoption
Collect, review and consolidate Safety and Quality Management System requirements to ensure it is continuously improved and aligned with needs
Maintain a secure system of document control and record keeping to ensure safe, efficient and standards-compliant retrieval
Collect internal / external best practices to support continuous improvement of safety procedures and the effective design and implementation of improved strategies
Collaborate with Aviation Security Safety department to ensure accurate tracking of identified risks
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the Quality Assurance Auditor - Flight Operations UAE Job placement should hold (or have held) a pilot qualification, minimum frozen ATPL (Air Transport Pilot License).
At least seven years of aviation industry experience of which at least two years includes experience of working with a quality assurance department with auditing responsibilities.
