Job Summary: The Manager Event Operations is responsible for the successful operational planning and delivery of Hala Events for commercial clients both international and local. The role is one of high responsibility and accountability within the Hala Team providing strong leadership and direction to the Events & Groups team and being the key point of contact for all client and account management. The environment is busy and challenging and the person requires the skill of both leading a team and when required being able to work on multi projects ensuring quality and consistency.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership & Management- Overall project leadership and management of large scale commercial projects. Project roles will include client and stakeholder management (Internal, local & international), operational planning - including overall creation of event specific packages, procuring and management of 3rd party suppliers, managing a large scale team and overall management of event delivery
  • Leadership & Mentoring of Events Team- Provide strong leadership and direction to the events team ensuring that the events are resourced, planned and delivered to the highest standard, monitoring quality, creating systems and procedures for planning and delivery and ensuring results are delivered on time and on budget
  • Budget Management- Negotiations with suppliers and partners to ensure maximum profitability. Quality control on all budgets that are sent out to clients
  • Account & Client Management- Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to Hala’s clients. Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships. Overseeing client account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximize profit
  • Reporting- Ability to provide financial and project based reports showing clear deliverables, risks and relevant financials
  • Contracting- In conjunction with the commercial team providing quality checks on all client contracts before they are given to the Senior Manager for signature

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Degree
  • An established track record of delivering world class events in the B2B or B2C space, conferences and exhibitions
  • Previously worked closely with product, marketing, commercial, sales and finance departments
  • Proven experience in working on international conferences and exhibitions
  • Experience in managing a team and working with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Experience of developing and delivering new ideas, even in the face of long established status quo
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with a strong track record of managing, reporting, forecasting and budgeting across multiple events and business plans
