Job Summary: The TDS Engineer will operate and maintain overdrive systems and related Tubular Running Services equipment according to internal service quality procedures, work instructions, industry standards, safety guide lines and external customer requirements.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to safety procedure and policies in accordance with safety management system. Including:

  • Active participation in workshop safety & tool box meetings.
  • Active participation and contribution to workshop specific safety initiatives.
  • Report all hazards and unsafe acts.
  • Ensure third party compliance.
  • Actively promote positive safety culture.

Adhere to quality procedure and policies in accordance with the IMS system including:

  • Ensure all resources are fit for purpose.
  • Raise corrective actions for all non-conformances.
  • Comply with work instructions.
  • Identify areas requiring improvement and / or audit.
  • Strictly comply with customer’s HSSE, Operations and behavioral requirements.

Adhere to Weatherford work instructions and standard operating processes as detailed in the Management systems

  • Conduct Tool Box Talks, Job Safety Analysis and Risk Assessments prior to performing any job at bases of rig site.
  • Conduct pre job maintenance and inspection on all overdrive systems prior to dispatch and fill in all the relevant documents as per Weatherford’s work instructions and standard operations procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of dispatch documents ensuring accurate documents and correct and complete equipments being dispatched.
  • Liaise with customer representative at location regarding the overdrive and other TRS related activities to ensure safe and smooth operations as per Weatherford quality systems and customer’s requirements.
  • Act as liaison between Customer representative, drill crew, and Overdrive personnel. Shall be available for consultation at all times.

  • Lead the overdrive / TRS personnel at location ensuring the responsibilities are allocated to each crew member based on their competency.
  • Perform visual and inventory checks on all equipments available at location and report to direct supervisor.
  • Check all relevant certifications and inspections of overdrive equipments and accessories.
  • Prepare equipments for operations at rig site such as redress, pre-job function test, offline rig up and other activities as per Weatherford work instructions.
  • Rig up and operate overdrive system and TRS equipment relevant to the operation within client’s requirements and in compliance with TRS work instructions, procedures and competence systems to maintain integrity of the client’s wells.
  • Maintain an accurate job report with all operational details such as well information, duration for rig up and rig down, job sequence, events, NPTs, equipments used, equipments performance etc.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs of all overdrive and TRS equipments at location.
  • Ensures, to the best of knowledge, the integrity of the tubular connections and the condition of the tubular prior to make up and lowering into the well.
  • Rig down overdrive system and other TRS equipments relevant to the operation within client’s requirements and in compliance with TRS work instructions, procedures and competence systems.
  • Prepare equipments for backload or next operations as communicated by customer or supervisor.
  • Raise all job details in Weatherford Performance Tracking Systems with all relevant data.
  • Raise NCR / CPAR regarding any non-conformances related to overdrive operations.
  • Liaise with Weatherford onshore support staff to ensure adequate equipment is available at the worksite to meet operational requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all TRS equipment is returned to the facility highlighting any faults. Any TRS equipment which is to remain onboard for future operations will be logged with the Client and detailed on the operation report and brought to the supervisor’s and customer coordinators attention.
  • Perform supervision of TRS crews, and oversee the TRS operation on location, ensuring smooth running of operations and support crews if problems arise.
  • Train and develop the GS-TDS / overdrive personnel.
  • Assist in competency assessment of GS-TDS.
  • Perform any other TRS related responsibilities requested by supervisor.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:   

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma / Graduate Engineer in Mechanics, Electrical or Electronics.
  • At least three years of relevant TRS Experience
  • Good Supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication skills, very good computer skills, English proficiency, ability to read engineering schematics.
  • Good mechanics / hydraulics / pneumatics and fair knowledge about electrical or electronics. Good computing skills
