Job Description

Job Title:  Terminal Truck Driver

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To inspect/check the TT’s for damages/repair/oil leakage/breakdowns and forward information to operations foreman or supervisor on daily basis for repair/maintenance works.
  • Operating TT with trailers (high wheel/low bed) or goose neck (Mafi) in professional and precise manner.
  • Operating the other equipment (i.e. forklifts 3/5/15 Ton) as per the yard/shed/vessel/CFS operation requirement.
  • Operating controls, devices, and levers to drive forklift of industry to transfer materials between unloading, loading, and storage areas.
  • Organizing and securing stored cargo/materials in organised manner as bales, super sacks, boxes, pallets, and so on.
  • Loading or unloading cargo/materials manually, off/on to pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devises.
  • Performing routine post and pre-inspections to ensure suitable working nature of equipment.
  • Consulting, working, and coordinating with Forman and supervisor regarding unloading and loading cargo/container operations.
  • De-stuffing or stuffing of containers at CFS with allocated equipment.
  • Inspect trucks for safety and follow the safety instructions, especially when carrying hazardous materials or chemicals.
  • Responsible for the condition of his vehicle and look for any malfunctioning part.
  • Knowledge of the Equipment, in case of sudden breaks down.
  • Performing all other operations duties as allotted by the forman, supervisor or Superintendent.
  • 24/7 on call in case of any emergency.
  • Comply with the recommended PPE requirements and maintain it in a good hygienic condition.
  • Identify potential hazards and dangerous occurrences at the workplace and comply with safe work instruction/ guideline.
  • Adhere to the safety measures identified in the Risk Assessments, Operation procedures and other HSE procedures.
  • Report HSE observation, near miss and incidents.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must at least hold a High School & above.
  • Valid U.A.E Heavy License is a must
  • Five years of experience
  • Ability to communicate Arabic & English.
  • Any additional languages would be deemed an advantage.
  • TT operating experience preferably in ports.
