Job Summary: The Procurement Officer will join a diverse and high caliber team that manages and controls Etihad’s spend on the categories of Ground Services (including ground handling, cargo handling, airport office and lounges) and Aeronautical Charges. This includes managing complex tender processes with suppliers for our global network to ensure we appoint competitively priced suppliers; and engaging with senior stakeholders (internally and externally) to persuasively engage airports and government authorities to control our airport spend.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Policies and Procedures: Follow all relevant policies, processes and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Implement the day-to-day standard operations assigned to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures. Refer to supervisor for complex tasks which may require exceptions to procedures
  • Safety, Quality & Environment: Comply with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
  • Perform, coordinate and execute purchasing and sourcing activities of medium complexity according to established purchasing policies and procedures to ensure purchasing activities are executed in Etihad best interest.
  • Organise and develop RFP and RFI documents according to established policies and procedure
  • Provide clear, accurate and robust Excel-based analysis for the team on, for example bids received in tender processes; impact of changing costs on the business etc.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a range of internal stakeholders to obtain information to support negotiations and analysis
  • Draft persuasive and clear presentations for senior internal stakeholders
  • Provide strategic and innovative input to drive cost reduction and efficiencies in all controlled cost base by identifying, understanding and using leverage available
  • Manage and track all activities in SAP (Ariba) to provide governance and transparency to the business on Procurement activities
  • Make recommendations to senior management based on comprehensive and robust analysis and consideration of strategy and risks
  • Understand and develop awareness of the business and the aviation market to influence and understand the impact on Procurement activities

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma (2 years or more).
  • Three years of experience within relevant field .
