Job Description

Job Title:  Assistant Project Controller - Temporary

Job Summary: The Assistant Project Controller – Temporary will be responsible for assisting Project Managers / Project Controller to manage the project financials and assist in planning activities as per Emerson Project Management Office guidelines utilizing the Emerson’s global resources and standards. Project deliverables are expected to be delivered with requisite quality standard, within approved budget and on schedule.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist Project Managers in operations to project handover, PIR, etc
  • Monitoring Invoicing schedule on the project
  • Assist Project Managers with Project Setup and coordinate with admin/PMO team to set-up project in business system and set-up project in Clarity & get project code.
  • Monitor invoicing schedule and gather all the supporting backups to raise the invoice.
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure project invoices are accurately prepared and timely submitted
  • Coordinate with admin/legal/finance/banks for bank guarantees and ensure they are timely & accurately issued.
  • Get the customer acknowledgement and acceptance/approval.
  • Perform expense audits for the project to ensure that all expense to the project are in compliance and belongs to the project.
  • Assist PM’s in maintaining project tools. Monitor project mandatory milestones and payment milestones
  • Assist PM’s in setting the project financials, regularly monitor assigned project performance, ETC, EAC against plans and actual expense. Conduct cost variance analysis in JDE & Oracle
  • Assist PM’s in consolidating reports for presentations / progress reports to customer / management.
  • Maintenance of old projects / or inactive projects which are still open.
  • Maintenance of project folders and consistency on the folder structure and naming convention.
  • Maintenance of Project financials and coordination with administrative staff.
  • Tracking closure of projects with finance and administration, once PM declare project closure
  • Financial forecasting for inactive projects
  • Assist PM in clean-up of Projects folder – Removal of projects, which has crossed record retention period

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree with Finance background
  • Knowledge of business processes, accounting systems,
  • Tech savvy; Experience working on an ERP package like Oracle.
  • Previous experience of working in a project cost accounting environment is preferred.
