Job Summary: The Education Data Analyst executes data collection, manipulation and analysis on educational and operational activities to provide insight and analysis on a wide range of education related data. Design and implement data management and storage solutions to enable efficient analysis and insight. The role will also support reporting functions as well.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The jobholder will analyse education and related data from internal and external providers/systems and provide appropriate insights and reporting to enable GEMS to improve school and student outcomes.
The ability to take raw data from numerous education providers and systems, match disparate datasets and turn it into clear and usable insights and reports.
Develop implement and support timely, sustainable reporting and analysis for the department.
During analysis if an anomaly, data quality issue or performance issue is flagged by the data or reports to highlight this to immediate manager for action.
Support the Education Data and Analysis strategy to ensure data is recorded/captured, consistent, accessible and usable going forward.
Provide SRM Manager with supplier performance metrics for feedback sessions.
Where possible suggest new approaches and solutions to Education issues.
Work with the systems and processes manager to automate a dashboard report with the key required metrics.
Understand and maximise how Microsoft Power BI can be used at both School Support Centre and School level to provide high quality insights for a range of audiences including the ability to provide self-service reports. These developments should continuously work to improve the quality of the data to ensure GEMS MENASA is benefiting from this.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the Education Data Analyst must hold a relevant degree and/or exposure to statistical analysis, additionally experience of using any of the following packages would be an advantage: MS Excel, SQL, Server2008, MYSQL, Power BI, Salesforce, SIMS.
Five years’ experience in a similar or larger organisation, Data analysis and report development highly sought.
High level proficiency in the use of MS excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Solid profit and loss statement understanding.
Excellent core professional skills, (General strategic skills, experience in procurement processes, compliance with business policies, PC skills).
Experienced Business Analyst who can gather important company data and compile it into reports, Stakeholders and Departmental Managers can use.
In charge of projects and delivers results that will make the organization more efficient and effective.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible information that improves corporate processes.
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English – both verbally and in writing.
