The Technician, Telecom diagnoses faults and makes repairs and functional checks ensuring that equipment meets the original specification standards.
Tasked with the maintenance and repair of wide range of Telecommunication equipment in a work shop environment and in the Plant areas. The equipment includes HF, VHF & UHF portable, mobile, base station radio transceivers, on-site paging transmitters and paging receivers. Fault report is made & documented on completion of each repair.
Conducts installations, inspections and preventive maintenance of the radio antennae and associated coaxial feeders on the 79 metre radio tower and portable, mobile and fixed radios as per the annual maintenance programmes and schedules.
Carries out installation, preventive maintenance and repair of the navigational radio beacon and aeronautical radio system and the emergency monitoring and multichannel recording system and equipment.
Performs other related duties such as keeping up-to-date technical records & updating database, preparing store requisition to ensure stocks of critical spare are always & adequately maintained and reporting on completed work.
Receives and dispatches equipment to/from Abu Dhabi and Field.
Carries out daily radio communications tests of all radios in the DECC and SGL and field programming of the radios and paging receivers.
Ensures strict compliance to Client Safety Regulations and Procedures. Implements the Company Health, Safety and Environment management system programs & objectives.
Ensures that the detailed implementation of the scheduled safety programs pertaining to his activities is progressed as per the agreed targets.
Ensures safe implementation of the telecommunication activities by adopting safe practices
