Job Summary: The Dealer will expand strategic off balance sheet business to generate revenue for the group by managing and building sales and client coverage desk inside treasury and global markets. Provide structured and/or alternative ideas on treasury products to ENBD’s internal and external client base. Ensure cross group coordination is maximized to continue revenue growth with managed credit exposure increases. Administer the expansion of client wallet size and new client acquisition as well as encourage product cross marketing. Also involve in strategic development of treasury business and revenue and contribute to group general strategy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a ‘special FX rate’ service allowing Branches/RM’s with the ability to offer their clients ‘better than competitor’ rates.
Sell and execute FX, FX Forwards, FX Options, structured products to key Direct Dealing clients
Visiting and telephone marketing to potential new clients and existing customers with the goal of selling investment and hedging products in all assets classes.
Responsible for identifying new clients, client visits to new and existing clients with the goal in discussing the client’s hedging/investment objectives and selling an appropriate Treasury product to meet those needs. This requires interaction with the Sales & Structuring desk, the Relationship Manager and potentially Market Risk/GCD & other business units.
The job holder also executes bonds and ensures the clients are fully aware of the risks by a telephone call before completing the trade. This protects the bank from reputation risk.
The job holder has to provide training to Relationship Managers and Branches as required at various times throughout the year.
In addition the jobholder will ensure clients are contacted by email or telephone to ensure they are fully aware of the market developments each day as this will be essential when communicating to clients who may ask for commentary. By providing an excellent knowledge of FX, bonds, options and structured products to clients. The job holder will create ‘value’ relationships and more clients/branches/RM’s will deal with the individual increasing revenues accordingly.
Responsible for the desk’s procedures and policies. Ensuring they are being followed and updated as required.
Responsible for reviewing the yearly Operational Risk desk review.
Responsible for monitoring and understanding the desk’s open position/reconciliation issues working closely with Finance – Treasury.
The job holder may be given a small portfolio of clients where they will provide a more pro-active approach to provide solutions to meet the client needs but at the same time increase revenues year on year with greater volume of trades.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should have a good academic background from leading college. Understanding of basic economics.
Professional qualifications desirable
ACI dealing certificate
Experience of analyzing the UAE economy and/or of the broader GCC economy, both from a macro and a micro perspective.
Strong sales, communication and analytical skills.
Extensive knowledge of the local, regional and international economies.
Display an ability to work under pressure to meet reporting time scales and support multiple projects, budgets and initiatives.
Motivated self-starter who can operate with limited supervision. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Use personal expertise and knowledge to influence others.
Previous experience of working within (and a good understanding of) a sales focused banking institution. Dealing with customers at the front end.
