Job Summary: The Director Live Entertainment will be tasked with creative vision, the look, the feel, and the tone of the live events that will take place during the Expo 2020. The role would take charge of developing major Expo owned events (such as daily parades), mobile entertainment (Street Performances), co-curated events (such as music festivals) and 3rd party licensed events (such as concerts, theatrical performances).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop overall strategy for Live Events at Expo 2020 that includes Expo Owned, co-curated and 3rd party licensed events. The overall strategy should take into account the programming calendar, visitor numbers and profiles and available venues/public spaces;
Set clear direction into the venue design process including development of events manual and production capabilities for venues in co-ordination with the Head of Production and Delivery;
Develop concepts and delivery mechanism for Expo owned events such as daily parades and entertainment shows, mobile entertainment
Develop a clear framework for large entertainment programs that would be licensed from 3rd party including concerts, theatrical performances and others;
Work closely with the wider programming team to set the creative direction, marketing and operational plans for all entertainment programs;
The Director Live Entertainment will facilitate regular & ongoing communication is happening in all areas to ensure successful execution of the events;
Ensure there is a robust risk management framework in place for all the events to ensure a flawless execution of the events.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree holder in a related field
Fifteen years of relevant experience as well as:
Experience in the Live Entertainment industry and delivery of large scale projects;
Experience in creating new events or developing new business in the events industry;
Expo 2020 is a Universal scale Registered Exposition time slot sanctioned by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Paris on 27 November 2013. Dubai in the United Arab Emirates won the right to hold Expo 2020.
