Job Title:  Senior Manager Digital Retail Management

Job Summary: The Etihad Airways Senior Manager Digital Retail Management will add immediate value by establishing an Etihad Airways Offer Management unit responsible for creating real time, dynamic and customized multi product offerings and distribute to relevant segmented customer groups through multiple channels as appropriate at optimal price for the airline and customer.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify customer segments and profiles through advanced data mining techniques, and manage offers through the creation of system rules. Contribute to the development of an Etihad offer management system.
  • Drive commercial offer management and ancillary pricing strategy and work across various airline functions to identify key contact positions to support transformational working methods to establish Etihad as leader in digital retailing
  • Challenger of existing pricing, marketing and distribution methods and leading with an entrepreneurial approach to implement customized offers and embracing a fail fast and test approach.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

  • The applicant must be educated to degree level or with relevant analytical and Commercial experience
  • Additional qualification in Statistics, Mathematics is preferable but not essential
  • Previous experience in Pricing, Revenue Management, Marketing, Merchandising or Distribution within Airlines or Travel Industry desirable but not essential
  • Seven years of working experience in a numerate and analytical role and with experience of merchandising or digital retail
  • The Etihad Airways Senior Manager Digital Retail Management should have five years of experience of managing customer facing digital products or services and experience with digital technologies, e-commerce, distribution and payments
  • Previous pricing, revenue management, planning, or related airline or travel industry experience is an advantage
  • Strong Project Management skills and experience of Agile Project Management techniques would be an advantage
  • Strong business acumen with a drive to succeed and an ability to take controlled risks (“trader mindset”)
  • A curious & entrepreneurial spirit and able to identify customer needs staying current on industry standards and trends and respond by adjusting user experience and product roadmaps
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a proven background of effective commercial decision making with the ability to make decisions using conflicting and incomplete data from multiple sources – ability to interpret the data whilst present data in a compelling manner.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and commercially sensitive issues with discretion and integrity
  • This individual must be able to influence others, even when there is no explicit reporting relationship.
  • Exceptional Written and verbal communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships, Negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to coach, motivate, and lead a team to ensure goals are met/exceeded.
  • Evidence of handling a variety of challenging situations and individuals
  • Experience of working in a pressurised environment where good time management skills and prioritisation are critical to achieving deadlines, often under pressures
  • Able to manage conflicting and changing demands in a high pressure environment
  • Adaptable - works effectively in both a team and independent environment
  • Quick learner, open to change, attention to details and ability to work with deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering executive level presentations
  • Experience in data mining and identifying different customer segments through various data sources is essential
  • Mobile Application experience is beneficial
  • Experience of digital retailing and merchandising or offer management is desirable
  • Familiarity with airline systems, such as PROS, Origin & Destination Systems, GDS, Internet Booking Engines, MIDT would be an advantage.
