Job Summary: The Associate – Construction will join our award winning regional construction team based in Dubai. The firm's renowned construction dispute resolution ability means that we are well-equipped to handle litigation and transactional work with ease. Most of the projects are on a large scale and have a high profile within the local and international construction market.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Tasked with managing a caseload of mainly contentious construction matters
• Assisting Partners with advisory work during project construction phase
• The Associate – Construction will be drafting and assisting with the negotiating a wide variety of building/ engineering contracts
• Providing advice on warranties, guarantees and appointment documentation
• Assisting Partners in delegation of work to and supervision of juniors in team
• Working closely with clients and continually developing the aptitude to foster long term client relationships
• Active participation in practice group business development

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

• The Associate – Construction should have a strong academic background and training from a recognised international firm/practice;
• Three years of construction experience gained at a reputable law firm with a strong reputation in the field of construction litigation;
• Proven ability and willingness to work on both contentious and non-contentious matters is essential;
• Regional experience with a focus on UAE matters is necessary; however candidates based outside the region with previous Middle East experience should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of international arbitration;
• Proven track record in taking a lead role in complex and high $ value litigation;
• A real interest in marketing/business development and the ability to foster long term relationships;
• Willingness to assume responsibility and take a pro-active and commercial approach to issues;
• Genuine interest in marketing/ business development;
• An ability to work in a team and autonomously;
