Job Summary: The Calibration Technician will add immediate value by performining and reporting on examination, evaluation and calibration of a variety of technical equipment and instruments to ensure their accurate functioning and reliability according to international industry standards and regulation. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform calibration and certify various mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment to ensure their adequate and reliable function and certification according to relevant standards and procedures (e.g. OEM, International Authorities, GCAA, EASA and FAA regulatory standards)
Review and inspect previously conducted equipment calibration and pre-calibration actions and documentation to ensure their successful completion
Troubleshoot and repair discovered issues within sphere of knowledge and expertise to ensure full functionality of equipment and instruments, escalating where needed
Train and motivate new calibration employees to support and grow their involvement
Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure proper support to internal and external customer needs
Develop own knowledge of all equipment and its function to ensure continuous alignment with current technology, regulations and standards
Policies and Procedures: Implement relevant policies, processes and procedures and monitor adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
Day-to-Day Operations: Implement the day-to-day standard operations assigned to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures. Refer to supervisor for complex tasks which may require exceptions to procedures
People Development: Supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures
Safety, Quality & Environment: Comply with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must be a Certified calibration engineer (Military / ISO).
Five years of relevant experience, including previous experience in a similar role.
Excellent knowledge of Calibration standards appropriate for an international airline.
Excellent knowledge of Aviation regulations (Specifically, GCAA, EASA 145 and FAA145).
High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications)
