Job Summary: The Systems Officer will be part of BI & Data Management team reporting to the Production Support Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishing and executing the production support stream of work of the Enterprise Analytics Team.
Responsible for all business intelligence production platforms operations, support & delivery of data & reports.
Ensure the BI systems are up and running as per the SLA and system is available for the all BI users to do their day-to-day job.
Manage the Incident and Problem resolution, providing end-to-end resolution to ensure completion of all jobs within defined objectives.
Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with other teams to remediate and implement to production in order to minimize impact to customers.
Production Support & Data Delivery
Delivery reports & data to the customers as per SLA
End-to-end Incident and Problem resolution of production issues
Responsible to support process improvements to continuously improve the stability and performance of the applications.
Identify system bottlenecks and opportunities for betterment
Prioritize workload, provide timely and accurate resolutions.
Perform in-depth research and identify sources of production issues.
Effectively perform root cause analysis of issues and report the outcome to business community and Management.
Develop / utilize core support tools and processes to perform work while improving day-to-day practices for support team members with the goal of delivering service improvements to the business.
Ensure all the system failures/events are logged in the incident management system
Responsible for owning system failures/alerts and attempt to resolve them or assign the alerts to the appropriate group/individuals
Monitors and track Batch and Database related alerts which require some action to be taken.
Identifies appropriate owner for alerts which require additional action
Project & Change Management
Support change and release management functions for the BI portfolio by liaising with IT operations, system owners, application stewards and key business stakeholders.
Reporting & Communication: Establish & run alerting and communication mechanism on production issues and problems. Create and maintain appropriate metrics to represent the production support operations.
Supplier Management: Establish & agree KPI’s with suppliers on delivering the production support services which support all the needs of BI customers.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering.
3 to 5 years of experience in the field of Information Technology and minimum 2 years of experience in Airline industry
Experience in data lakes, Hadoop full stack development, Big Data methods and technologies (Cloudera, Map-reduce, Spark, Pig/Hive, Impala, Sqoop/kafka, YARN, Solr, OOZIE, HBASE, etc), Microsoft BI suite, is desirable.
Demonstrated capability on data visualization / data discovery with MICA and building Models through Trifacta and data ingestion through Zaloni bedrock products are desirable.
Experience in SAP suite of tools like Webi, Design Studio and Lumira, Microsoft Power BI suite, and other data analytical tools like Cloudera workbench, Machine learning Server integration with R Studio, Dataiku is a plus.
Expert knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python
Experience in Microsoft Azure platform to manage the subscriptions, and infrastructure effectively.
Manage the cost effectively based on the current infrastructure and the demand to run the new machine on the fly
Manage the License and Tenant setting effectively through proper AD account setup for various products & users.
Estimate the Azure infrastructure for the project through effective estimation model.
Estimate the business demand and manage the License effectively for the data lake products and work with vendor, contracts & procurement team for true up /procure the license based on demands
Experience in managing and monitoring various products in Cloudera Director and Cloudera manager to manage various products/tools installed in Cloudera Manager as services
Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
Demonstrated experience of working with distributed team across various locations.
Ability to communicate effectively and influence management and external service providers, both verbally and in writing, on a technical as well as non-technical level.
Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Highly motivated self-starter able to work to deadlines and under limited supervision.
Strong written and oral communication skills (English).
Experience of airline / airport systems and processes – Desirable.
Hands on experience in one or more business intelligence, data warehouse, ETL and data management tools.
Technical know-how in Big Data technologies highly desired
