Job Summary: The IBM Systems Administrator should be an IBM Certified System Expert (in Enterprise, Virtualisation, or High Availability). IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert would be preferred.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
ITIL v3 Foundation and Interim qualifications as a minimum, preferably ITIL v3 Expert.
IBM Certified System Administrator, and IBM Certified System Expert (in Enterprise, Virtualisation, or High Availability). IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert would be preferred.
IBM Certified Deployment Professional, Specialist, or Architect in other IBM fields and products would be an advantage (eg Storage, Cloud, Tivoli, Service Management).
Training in replication, mirroring, load-sharing, distribution, and backup systems.
Project management, data centre, security, quality and other Service Management training and/or certification.
Seven years’ experience in designing, implementing, integrating, and supporting enterprise IBM server, storage, and database systems (including hardware, software, operating systems and applications setup, configuration, testing, and maintenance).
Experience in major hardware and operating system upgrades, and in complete restores; assignments or projects delivered in customer-facing disciplines.
Strong knowledge of Service Management deployment and Project Management.
Excellent knowledge of IBMi/AS400 administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning, related to a distributed, multiple-application environment.
Experience in Backup and recovery procedures using BRMS
Experience in Data replication through MIMIX-HA
Experience in managing partitioned systems, using journaling, remote journaling.
Advanced knowledge of system design techniques, integration and testing; high availability, continuity, clustering, virtualisation, storage, and consolidation; data centre systems, cloud computing, and hosting.
Substantial understanding of business requirements and analysis.
Strong knowledge in security (policies, audits/assessments) and quality.
