Job Summary: The User Experience Research Intern should be a bright, hard-working individual, passionate about learning about users behaviours and creating fantastic user experiences. You will work with and learn from our UX Research Lead and influence the development of the next features on Shedd. You’ll be part of our team of creative and smart people, and have the opportunity to collaborate with the other teams at Shedd: Marketing, Engineering and Business Intelligence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Throughout the internship you will learn to:
Plan and execute studies to collect quantitative and qualitative data about users behavior.
Apply a variety of research methods, such as user testing, semi-formal interviews, ethnography, surveys, A/B and multivariate testing, card sorting, tree testing, market research, and competitive analysis.
Use descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze quantitative data.
Use content analysis techniques to analyze qualitative data.
Transform data into insights.
Prioritize usability issues.
Design wireframe mock-ups, interactions flows, and low-fidelity prototypes.
Present and communicate your results and suggestions to the product team and the rest of the company.
Write a user research report and presentation deck.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should have a background in Psychology, Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Human Factors, Product Design, Industrial Design, Visual or Graphic Design, Communications Design, or related field.
Is fluent in English (additional language a plus).
Prior experience in applied research in academia a plus.
Family or Student Visa.
